Raising money to save Pete's life and those of other AVM sufferers

Previous forum entries

We're sorry to have to say that we've removed the Pete's Fund forum from the pages.  We were becoming inundated with entries from spammers using the forum to publish inappropriate stuff that we in no way want to be associated with.

Entries to the forum are listed below, and we thank everyone who took the trouble to write in.  If you want to leave a comment there is always the Guest Book which remains operational.

What can I say? This programme should never had needed to have been made. As one of the mothers said, we have a national health service not a regional one. Pete should have had the operation without the need for fund raising or lobbying. Its sickening to think someone who has worked hard, paid their taxes are refused treatment because they live in the wrong place or have the wrong illness. Not a single eye was dry in our household. We wish Pete and his family all the best for the future and thank you for bringing this subject to the attention of the wider audience. God bless you all.

I am currently sitting watching the documentary about Pete and the family & am touched and moved at the strength & bravery of all those so close to Pete. AVM is a condition which I had not heard of prior to watching tonight's program; by way of support to Pete and other AVM suffers I would like to offer sponsorship for future events and would be grateful if you could contact me to arrange this. The best of luck to you all! Nina

Why not look at contacting the mega rich of Watford Herts to see if you can raise the money to cover the mortgage, so relieving the financial burden - those taking over the mortgage could take a charge to cover their investment (as a bank would anyway ) if the loan were spread over a number of people it would make raising it easier. I will make some phone calls.

Hi, My name is Amy & I'm 23 & I live in Ireland & I'm just after seeing your programme & I just found it so upseting. my cousin died from a brain haeomarage when she was only 22, 12 years agos. Doctors didnt believe her headaches were anything to worry about & she died the day her nephew was christened. Ye have such a strong & loving family & thats what its all about. I think its a disgrace the way ye were treated by the health board. I tried to make a donation but it was in euros & I dont think it would accept it so if ye could send me a written address so that i could post 1 on that would be great. I hope Pete & his family are doing well. Take care, Amy Cotter, Gratten Street, Kilkee, Co. Clare, Ireland

Hi Pete, I am so thrilled to see that you are now doing well with regards to your operation. I feel it is so unfare that you are not getting any help with your home and bankrupcy. I am a pensioner and I feel so lucky that I have had such a good life, and so sad to see people like you suffering so much. I wish I had lots of money to be able to help you, you have gone through so much with your lovely wife and those lovely sons of yours, they are all a credit to you both. If there is any way that I can help, unfortunately I do not have monetery help but I do have some time that I perhaps I could help in someway or another. Please let me know if there is anything, I would be exstatic if you can come out of this awful dillemma with your house and other problems that you have. I am sure you will be inundated with emails, but do let me know if I can help when you get the time after going through all your emails. I will pray that you will get more help to get you out of this situation, but it is wonderful to know that you have got your life back isn't it, such a Blessing. God Bless you Pete, and God Bless your wife and family. Jean.

Been over to see Pete,Ju and the boys and they are all looking well. Pete has undergone his first op which has been successful although it would appear that he will need up to 5 operations now instead of 3 which was the original amount given. Pete has no incisions on his head theythreaded a tube to his head all the way from his groin...amazing me thinks. Pete is very positive and looking good as always. See you between Xmas and the new year guys Take care. Love Jim x

Hello there, Pete and myself would just like to say what a wonderful day we had at Kings Langley school today, the sixth form boys had their legs waxed along with the headmaster Mr Gary Lewis and the whole school came into the hall with a pound entry to watch. You guys are mad but wonderful we cant thank you enough for all your support for Pete (Peter, Lewis & Benn's dad). We shed a few tears this afternoon some of emotion and gratitude and some of laughter!!! you guys are the best for doing this, and we think you raised over £1,000.00 but will know for sure in a week or so. Watch out for the news paper reports in the Watford observer and the Hemel Gazette next week. Thanks a million. Pete & Julia. xxxxxxx
